Our Story
In 1994, Nick Kerr, Dick Nash, Bill Stribling and Bob Spurlin decided to create a unit for Burleson, Texas. Our retirees belonged to the Cleburne Unit, but wanted to have a local near, to reach our retirees.
Nick was the first BARSEA president. He served through May 1995. The name was chosen to include, not only Burleson, but the surrounding areas. Carolyn Kerr came up with the name "BARSEA". Thus, the name BARSEA is Burleson Area Retired School Employee Association.
